About Us

18th Avenue Candle’s strives to make all spaces smell wonderful while keeping our customers’ health at the forefront of everything we do

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide hand-poured soy wax candles that are clean for those sensitive to fragrances and other allergens. Everyone should be able to have a great-smelling space without harmful side effects, and we are here to make that a reality.

We understand the struggles of fragrance allergens. We know how confusing and overwhelming it can be to decipher ingredients listed on labels. You are not alone; we are here to support you. Together we can find the right candle to meet your personal needs.

Please refer to our list of allergens that we check for in our candles.

Testimonial

“Your candles fill the room better than the leading competitors do. Plus they smell just as good if not better!”

All scents are tested and approved by my pups, Shadow and Maya.

Our Founder

Hi, I’m Sydney Bolin! A few years ago, I found myself in a conundrum while moonlighting to try and launch a marketing business. But after a long day at my desk, the last thing I wanted to do was sit there longer. That’s when I stumbled upon candle making. I didn’t expect it to be as refreshing as it was. It allowed me to be creative and, most importantly, to step away from my desk. The calm and satisfaction I felt while pouring candles was a game-changer.

After a year of kicking around the idea, I blended my love for candle-pouring, creativity, and marketing into a single venture. And thus, my candle company was born. I named it 18th Avenue, inspired by my street, because it has a nice ring to it, and if I ever move, it’ll make for a good story.

What sets my candles apart is my commitment to transparency and allergen awareness. Struggling with fragrance allergens myself, I understand the frustration of hidden ingredients. I do my best to screen fragrances for common allergens so everyone can enjoy a lovely scent without worry. My background and personal experiences have deeply influenced my approach, and my long-term goal is to continue learning about fragrance allergens and expanding the list of allergens I screen for, ensuring that my candles are safe for as many people as possible.
